COMMISSIONING WORK
CREATING UNIQUE PIECES JUST FOR YOU
Commissioning is an exciting aspect of any artist’s practice. It often begins with a discussion, then turns to a sketch, then a technical drawing, followed by a model until the final piece is realised. The energy derived from this part of one’s practice is thrilling especially because the piece is often made using imagination, consultation and research into new techniques and materials in order to fulfil the expectations of the client.
In her own practice, Mary Ann has made it her business to make the commissioning of a piece as easy and enjoyable as possible. Work shown in this gallery is the legacy of some very personal works for celebration, commemoration and enjoyment.

COLLABORATION
ARTIST COLLABORATION
Collaboration is a story all its own. Two makers applying their specific set of skills to one piece makes for adventure, surprise, enjoyment and a fertile journey of learning.
She and Vicki Ambery-Smith have collaborated together on a number of pieces which have brought together their skill at the bench and their own design points of view to make work of astonishing beauty.
